Our Carpet cleaning Procedure

  • Are your carpets, rugs or upholstery looking tired after lockdown?
  • Are you worried about what harmful bacteria may be lurking in your soft furnishings?
  • Our professional carpet cleaning procedure follows a multi-stage deep clean as follows;
Carpet cleaning Procedure

1) Inspection & assessment

We will inspect the carpet to identify the fibre type and construction & make sure it is correctly fitted, access the level of soiling, access any stains or odour’s which might need extra attention.

2) Pre vacuum/Dry soil removal

We vacuum the carpet/rug/upholstery thoroughly to remove any dry soil/debris from the carpet prior to the wet cleaning

3) Apply suitable prespray cleaning agent

This is the product which cleans the soluable soiling from the fibres. We will select the appropriate product for each job based on the fibre and soiling type

4) Mechanical agitation.

We then use a CRB (contra rotating brush) machine to scrub the prespray into the carpet and help loosen the soiling. This provides a much deeper clean through the pile instead of just cleaning the surface. On upholstery we may use a hand mitt for this stage or a drill brush if safe to do so.

5) Leave the cleaning solution to dwell.

Some cleaning presprays work best with a short dwell time to break down the soiling in your carpets/upholstery

6) Apply a spotting product to stubborn spots and stains.

The carpet cleaning procedure we deploy will endeavour to remove all small spots and stains as part of a standard clean. Some stains will require advanced methods for removal, this will be discussed with you at the inspection & assessment stage.

7) High pressure hot water extraction rinse.

Now that the carpet has been prepared , it is time for the rinse stage . Our powerful Airflex portable extractor flushed the soiling out at high pressure using hot water.

8) Neutralize & Deodorize

We use products designed to clean and sanitize your carpets, but it is also important that the carpet is left in a pH neutral state and is free from detergent residues to prevent it from re-soiling quickly after a clean. An antibacterial deodorizer is used to leave you with a fresh smelling finish.

9) Drying aids & advice

We may need to position some furniture onto Proctective tabs to prevent damage/staining form the moisture in the carpet. We will often use a special air mover fan to help speed up the drying time. We will advise you on the best way to aid drying in your home.
